Campaign meetings are conducted yearly, and open to participation in person or by telephone by Campaign supporters, both individuals and representing organizations.
Below are the minutes of the latest Campaign meeting which took place on 19 September 2012.
The Campaign had its latest meeting on September 19, 2012. The outcome of that meeting was the following message, which went out to all supporters of the Campaign:
We need your help to celebrate Universal Children’s Day, November 20, 2012. These celebrations are not just about children generally, but about the rights they share everywhere in the world, as recognized in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The US Government still needs to ratify that Convention!
Celebrations happening near November 20, 2012, can have the same impact, even though that date has a long history of significance for children’s rights. The day is a celebration of American values, as the CRC came out of a Reagan initiative to apply Constitutional protections that American children enjoy to other parts of the world.
